Monnaie for Epoc ER5

Multi-currency conversion for the Psion revo, Series 5, 5mx
and most Epoc ER5 machines

The simplest to use and the most intuitive, yet the most powerful of all converters: key in an amount, tap the name of the country or press the corresponding "currency key", and that's it! The amount is instantly converted into all the other currencies of the table.
  • handles up to 180 different currencies, presented in pages of 16 (revo), 33 (Series 5 and 5mx), or 54 (Series 7).
  • any amount is instantly converted into all the currencies.
  • screens can be customized (view by country or by region, unlimited number of regions).
  • exchange rates can be automatically updated either directly from Internet (disclaimer), on a machine with a modem connexion, or by import from a text file (different formats are available).
  • 4 different formats are available for the input, import and display of exchange rates.
  • link and paste compatible.
  • basic calculations can be performed in the bottom input window.
  • Euro compliance: when the Euro "lock" is ON, you change the exchange rate of any Euro currency, and the rates of all the other Euro currencies are adjusted.

When installed on the revo, Monnaie displays an onscreen keyboard allowing full pointer operation. Here the screen is shown in the "lefthanded" configuration:

Any currency can be selected as "home currency", and used as reference for the input or automatic import of exchange rates (here French Franc):

The automatic import of exchange rates is probably the most interesting feature of Monnaie. On a machine with an internet connexion via a modem connected to a fixed line, or a handphone with integrated modem and IR connexion to the Epoc machine, this can now be done directly, with the command "Import from Internet" (disclaimer). Otherwise different formats of files can be used. Many sources are available on the Web. The example on the screenshot below is borrowed from The Interactive Currency Table (Xenon Laboratories). They offer a free daily update of exchange rates by e-mail. You can update the exchange rates in Monnaie directly from this e-mail.
